Check the ip address. Give the second system another ip address which is different from the primary one connected to the broadband. Then run the Setup a network for a small office or home. That you can find when you take network connections.

Run that setup then restart your computer. It will be alright.

I hope you know how to change the IP address.

Step 1: Note the IP address, subnet mask, default gateway & DNS of your computer which is currently connected directly to internet.

Step 2: On your 2nd computer, assign an IP address similar to 1st one by changing the last number. Like if IP on 1st one is 192.168.0.10 , then assign 192.168.0.11 to 2nd one.

Step 3: Subnet mask, default gateway and DNS must exactly be the same on 2nd computer.

Step 4: Connect the internet cable, to your switch instead of 1st computer where you have directly connected it now.

Hope that should work!!!

on your another system, the one not connected to the net

you should set its IP Address to be obtained via DHCP

try this.

1. click start, type ncpa.cpl and hit enter

2. double-click your Local Area Connection, and click Properties

3. look for Internet Protocol(TCP/IP), and double-click on it.

4. select "Obtain IP Address automatically" and

"Obtain DNS server address automatically"

5. click OK on all window.

6. try to open Internet Explorer.

hope this helps.

1)First check your connection type. Both PC get internet via switch, only if you have multi user connection type.

2) For internet sharing, you may first connect two PC and modem directly to switch.

Please check both connections are configured with DHCP mode or dynamic IP mode and both ethernet adaptors with auto duplex mode. also check direct source cable in each computer and try to start internet. U might sucseed in finding problem.

If internet work in both computers, put source cable in port 8 and use port 1 and 2 to connect both computers with switch. Then try internet on ur both computers.
