Dear Friend

If there is a conflict of IP address in my official network, how can I identify which IP address has been duplicated?

Please note, we use WindowsXP & Vista.

Appreciate, if you would come back with the solution at your earliest.

Regards,
Hati Baba

Check the IP addresses of all the devices on the network and make sure none are using the same one.

You can check the IP address on Windows by going Start > Run > cmd > ipconfig

Or

Go to control panel, network connections and double click the icon for the connection you're using and check the "support" tab or "details" button.

there will be a conflict if your cables are not connected properly such as if you were sharing the internet connection from one PC to another. Make sure each PC in your network has it's own separate connection to the access point which would be your modem like through a switch or router when this is determined then you should have no conflicts since XP and Vista are automatically configured for DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protoco) which means that it will automatically be assigned it's own IP address each time you connect to the internet...hope this helps~

go to start, type cmd and press enter. if on XP, start > run> then type cmd

run ipconfig /all and look for the # that says 192.168.1.xxx and then check to find which ones are using the same IP's.

Open your network settings, right click the network device and hit :properites: and go to the protocals and configure IPv* and manually set up an IP address.

to apply ipconfig /launch or ipconfig /renew, you will desire to miraculous click on Command instant and choose the 2d determination "Run as administrator", then you certainly've the elevation which you require. You do have greater advantageous than one pc/gadget using the router and the different guy or woman has the comparable IP handle as you're using. you will desire to tighten up the protection on your router, particularly on the immediate. Create a MAC handle enable checklist and purely placed your pc's immediate MAC handle in the checklist. in case you concern the command ipconfig /all, look below the section "immediate LAN adapter immediate community Connection", and locate the actual handle, that's your MAC handle on your immediate Ethernet adapter. I additionally propose which you do no longer broadcast your SSID, substitute the default settings (like channel on the router), create a WAP passkey and don't enable distant setup on the router. in case you bypass to the DHCP customer desk to work out if there is greater advantageous than one pc on your community. the final element to ascertain is to make specific that if the MAC handle clone characteristic is used that the MAC handle is the MAC handle of the immediate Ethernet adapter on your pc. If a working laptop or pc's MAC handle is used as a clone then it would not look in the customer desk.
