While they don't have many of the features of Cisco or other high-end switches, HP switches are VERY good - and they come with a lifetime warranty.

I've recommended and installed them many times for folks who either can't afford or don't want Cisco with exceptional results.

Hope this helps!

The bid is up to $125 when shipping is included. I guess that's not out of line, if you really need 24 ports. As more places convert to gigabit, there should be a flood of these on the market, and cheap. I live in Silicon Valley, and have seen this sort of thing at the electronic flea market for about $30. But this is an atypical location.

Is the switch good? Don't know. The seller has 5 feedbacks, so it's hard to tell. This qualifies for PayPal guarantee, so you could get your money back if it turns out to be no good, but will have to pay shipping both ways.

On eBay, the thing is not to panic. Take a look at what is out there, and make your reasoned bid after doing your homework.
