Question:
Sharing folders in XP?
2010-07-14 01:12:45 UTC
Hello,

New to this, please forgive me.
I have two xp machines (both sp2)
I am having problems mounting some folders.
I can see them, but I don't have the right permissions.
It's strange, all shared folders show, but only some are accessible.

Both terminals are on the same workgroup (HOME)
I use FSwide (FOR FLIGHT SIM) client and server and they see each other. ( I have a licensed copy of both fswide and fsuipc4)
I have other shares on both computers that I can see (from each other) and can access them. I can also map these shares.

I checked the shares that do work and they are exactly the same as the ones that don't.
Shared by name. Checked permissions. Set to "everyone" with full access.
Is this right?
I created the same user and password on both terminals just to see. No go......

Just so you know, I am trying the share my /program Files/ms games/fsx folder so i can use Flight Sim Commander

Can someone help me here before i loose the rest of my hair?

Do you recommend u favor to percentage the folder inspite of the undeniable fact that it no longer look in case you BROWSE the laptop?? Ie pc1 shall we u see all shared?? if so percentage the folder as MYFOLDER$ the $ on the precise will make it invisible.... yet to attach to the folder you should apply the $ Ie information superhighway use mypc1myfolder$ O.ok???
