Surely you can. It is 127.0.0.1. That is a default loop-back interface so you can use a browser to check a web page you are editing for example.

When connecting to the internet, there are several ways an address can be assigned:

Most common: DHCP or Dynamic Host Control Protocol...

A DHCP server somewhere upstream reads the Media Access Control number (MAC address) of the device you are using to connect and associates it with an address which may be a local-only or an actual IP address that is internet-valid. Remember that right now we have only about 4 billion IP addresses on ipv4 so frequently a router uses its DHCP to assign a local-only IP address (one that will not be relayed by internet routers) and then translates that to a single useful internet address/port pair (Network Address Translation or NAT). Note: the association of an address to the MAC on your machine is in a database temporarily for a day or a week or a month (or whatever the router has set as a lease period). Furthermore, if you have say two ethernet ports, each will have its own MAC address and its own IP, so you can have several IP addresses on the same computer. (actually that is possible with ONE interface, but as far as I know, only in UNIX-like systems)

Less frequent: Static IP -- this is a valid internet address permanently assigned, and usually set in your system configuration by configuration software which can be as simple as a text editor on /etc/resolv.conf in linux to a full-blown GUI in linux or windows. In that case your IP address can be known without an internet connection.

Get a No Cost Background Check Scan at https://biturl.im/aUQPy

Its a sensible way to start. The site allows you to do a no cost scan simply to find out if any sort of data is in existence. A smaller analysis is done without cost. To get a detailed report its a modest payment.

You may not realize how many good reasons there are to try and find out more about the people around you. After all, whether you're talking about new friends, employees, doctors, caretakers for elderly family members, or even significant others, you, as a citizen, have a right to know whether the people you surround yourself with are who they say they are. This goes double in any situation that involves your children, which not only includes teachers and babysitters, but also scout masters, little league coaches and others. Bottom line, if you want to find out more about someone, you should perform a background check.
