Good morning Yahoo Answers!

I have applied for a Reliance 4Mbps unlimited wired internet plan. They have notified me that their connection ratio is 1:10. In this condition, how much download speed can I expect from this plan?

Ive never heard of an ISP saying that they have a download ratio. I can however tell you this...your internet service is sold to you in Bits. You purchased a 4 Megabit speed package from your ISP. Downloads are calculated in Bytes though. There are 8 Bits in 1 Byte. 4 (your internet speed) divided by 8 (the number of bits in a byte) equals 0.5. So 0.5 Megabytes per second (or 500 KBps) is your maximum download speed.

If you Download Movies during night time ( 8pm - 10am ) mostly torrent download speed is around 350-400 KBps ( 3600 kbps ). 8-12 GB movie takes around 6-8 hours. If you use IDM - Internet download manager for direct download link you can download at full speed ~ 500 KBps ( 4000kbps ).All the best..!

1:10 is a very good ratio i most isp gives 1:20 ratio and that too changed to 1:50 or sometimes 1:70 also when reached specific data limit. this change is however hidden and not mentioned u confirm from your isp.

i feels u may get upto 3.5-4mbps of speed in this ratio
