So lately on my laptop, I've been experiencing some weird and annoying things. When I got to perfectly safe websites, both Firefox and Google Chrome will tell me that I'm actually being directed to a248.e.akamai.net. I've looked up Akamai, and apparently it hosts most of the big time sites, and isn't dangerous. Why are my browsers doing this? Also, I could not access many sites as apparently, cookies aren't allowed. What does this mean? I found that linksys routers can have what's called "dns poisoning". However, I do not have a Linksys router, but a Scientific Atlanta router, and I have restarted my router multiple times before. Please help!

hi yi, i recieved the same message but mine read dns is not present so what has to be the problem is from your modem but when i recieved that error i pulled out my software and formated my computer but i had to get a complete setup even my internet provider said that they had to change to a complete exchange so they had to create a new gateway for me. and they sent me a new modem but i could not get my e-mail for two monthes because of this problem. so this might be a good idea to get in touch with your internet provider. if you know how to format your hard drive i recommend it but if you don't know how than take your computer tower and all of your software to a computer repairman. i finally got my fixed but it said the same thing dns not connected or present. good luck i hope i was helpful to you

Your PC is infected, as simple as that. Malware/Virus infection shows typical problems what you are experiencing. Download a anti malware software or use something like spybot to check the infection.

Either change your proxy setting or call the operator. He might help.
