I have a laptop running Vista and one running Windows 8.1 Need to transfer from vista to 8.1..
I don't have internet or a network created for the two p.c.
I think if you create a network and enable file sharing, you can transfer the files that way, but I don't really know how to do so without Internet.

Any help would be appreciated..
thanks

Shih Tzu answer is probably the easiest solution.

If both computers have a twisted wire pair Ethernet connections.

Connect the two computers with a a crossover Ethernet Cable. Then set their Internet Addresses to different addresses in the same network.

Method 2:

Connect computers with a serial cable and a null modem and use available program to use transfer file across the serial coonnection.

Transfer them to a thumb drive and open them on the other computer.
