I have a BT home hub as a router with a BT broadband line. Is it possible to connect another router in another room through the ADSL filter. Two routers connected on the broadband line (via the modem slot on the adsl filter) and both access the Internet. Please note they won't connect to each other via Ethernet.

No. Not possible.

The modem is assigned one IP by the ISP. The router then routes everything to and from that IP through it's internal network. You can't add another router to the modem, since you only have one assigned IP.

The short answer is no.

I had almost no luck getting 2 wireless routers to connect to one another. A wireless router is basically a router and access point in one box. Thus, you would be basically trying to do what I was trying to do and you would never get them to connect.

Secondly, netstumbler wouldn't see the access point as a "wireless card" and would never show any connections.

Third, even if you somehow DID get this to work (which I'm confident you wouldn't) you would get no signal strength indication which sucks.

if you want to increase wifi range you can look at

No! 2 connections will reason your ISP to diminish you off, as quickly as a million login is made you won't be in a position to apply yet another. it would be pointless in case you're able to, you nonetheless in ordinary terms have the allotted bandwidth, the chat between them woul sluggish you down.
