Why Does my ip address change everyday?(Charter)?

So i just started using VNC and i have to change the ip address everyday because i different
so how do i get it to stay the same

I think you're talking about your public address, which is under control of your ISP. Probably you have a dynamic IP that renews every time your modem loses connection and restarts it. You can buy a fixed IP from your ISP or use a dynamic domain to bypass this problem.



If you talk about local IP, that one is controlled from the router control panel, vía DHCP leases options.

Your IP address is lost once you lost the signal to the connection, once you come back to the connection, it renews.



You cannot stop it from changing. It's for the sake of the router not locking in ip addresses.
