Confused!!! --- WiFi, Cable, or DSL?

This will definitely sound like a stupid question to those more technologically advanced, but I need to know whether I have WiFi, Cable, or DSL in my home (and I'm aware that I should know the answer already but bear with me).

I have a bundle of tv, internet, and phone service from Time Warner Cable. I'm using a laptop right now. I have a "Digital Voice Modem" and another modem (I think that's what it's called). The second one I mentioned is thinner, lays horizontally, but also has green lights like the first one. The second box says thing like Ethernet and USB though. So what kind is it -- WiFi, Cable, or DSL?

Again, I know this is probably a painfully simple question to those who know a lot about computers. Clearly I am not one of those people. I appreciate the help! :)

Wi-Fi stands for Wireless Fidelity. Wi-Fi is another name for Wireless Internet. You can get Wireless Internet from a Wireless Router. Cable Internet is Internet from a Cable Modem, with or without a Router. DSL Internet is Internet over phone lines, which comes from the Telephone company. You have Cable Internet, since Time Warner Cable is a Cable company. Cable companies offer Cable Internet to customers.

A "Digital Voice Modem" would be your box for cable internet. The other box you have that lays horizontally (with the green lights) is called a router.

What the router does is it takes the signal from your cable modem and disperses it into the air (This is WiFi) so you can connect to it with no wires from your laptop.

So to answer your question, you have Cable, and the router hooked up to your cable modem is giving you wifi.

quickest to Slowest > T1 > Cable > DSL > Wifi There are different factors, of direction. Cable customarily is swifter than DSL yet simply by fact an entire community shares the same cable hub it easily is going plenty slower than DSL during severe site visitors circumstances. Wifi customarily is the slowest simply by fact there are not any cable in contact, so it incredibly is going to of course be slower simply by fact its transmitted by indicators. desire this allows.

You have cable Internet which is connected to a modem which connects to a wireless router allowing you to use your laptop wirelessly through WiFi.
