Just Curious, it's just your normal home network too but i want to know if it makes any difference to have the SSID hidden or broadcast

A hidden SSID is slightly more secure - but only slightly.

Your real network security comes from turning on encryption: some form of WPA encryption, too.

Don't depend on WEP encryption: it's been broken.

a hidden SSID is alittle extra added security...

i say a little because if someone has the ability/time to hack WPA encryption, which is harder than WEP, but not impossible, then they will probably al ready have the knowledge/ability to scan for hidden SSIDs

It is good that u use WPA over WEP though.

I am forced to use WEP because some of my older devices arenot compatible with WPA :/

If someone has the skills to hack even a password protected network the "hidden SSID" is an extra security. You can't hack what you don't see
