Either of the top two, although overplay.net would give you access to more VPN locations, and don't require longer term signups. Widevpn are terrible - give them a very wide berth.

Been to Singapore for sometime, and frequently goes to Hong Kong. Actually, both are nice, it's just a matter of what you look for. In Singapore, I feel very safe. Weekend nightlife is so alive, and the mix of culture represents the country in many ways. In Hong Kong, I feel that most places are easily accessible and many convenience stores available. The downside of Singapore is although it's just a small place, the public transport particularly the buses takes a lot of stops so the supposed to be 30min ride takes about 1hr or so of travel time. In Hong Kong, it's pretty crowded. The good side of Singapore is although it's a country of mixed culture, the primary language used is English so there's not a problem in communication. For me, I still prefer Hong Kong, because of practicality and convenience.

I've always liked PureVPN ( http://www.purevpn.com/vpn-service/hong-kong-vpn.php). It's really cheap and based in Hong Kong, and they usually match my speed up to around 150 KB/s.

I recommend using VPNPower to be able to unblock sites. I have been with them since 4 years. http://www.vpnpower.net
