I was trying to reconfigure my wireless settings on my 2nd computer. It has a wireless PCI card from Linksys. My main comnputer is connected the the linksys wireless router. The dilemma...I lost the router installation disk, and my 2nd computer won't read the PCI installation disk. I put the PCI disk in my CD drive. It won't autoplay. I've explored the CD and tried to launch it manually, but the installation wizard will not start either. I put it in my secondary CD drive, and the same thing happens. Is there some site on the internet that i can DL the drivers for my router and PCI card, seeing as I basically have no install disks. Thanks.

Try http://www.linksys.com and click on Downloads at the top of the page.

The first computer should be connected by HARD WIRE. From the COMMAND PROMPT, type IPCONFIG (or winipcfg from Windows 98). This will tell you the GATEWAY address.

Let's say it says 192.168.0.4

then open Internet Explorer and enter that in the Address field.

You should get a LOGIN screen. I belive that the username is blank, and the password is admin. Check the manual. Go to Linksys.com and check.

If you changed the password, you might be DONE. Go get another router from STAPLES or other convenient store.

Write down all passwords.

Keep all important program, device and system disks in one box, and well organized. These are not needed for anything but computer repair and restoration, so NOBODY should be messing with it.

I had a similar problem with a Trendnet card. After not being able to install anything from the CD, I got the newest updated drivers from Trendnet's website and installed them and it worked. Try going to Linksys' website and downloading the newest drivers. Than should be all you need to do.
