I want to share some folders only for one user of my LAN, no can access these accept i give them permission. I am using windows xp professional. I have tried many times to add user of my network in Administrative Tools for give them rights to access my files, but xp doesn't add any user out of this machine. please solve my problem.

As far as i know Xp doesnt let you add any user out of your computer in a workgroup envoirment you can try setting a password to your guest account



ps: if you setup IIS you can setup your ftp website on that you can allow chosen users to logon by creating new usernames for them.

Make sure that ur HDD partition must be NTFS.

Just simply share the folder.There in a option called permission > select everyone > give deny permission > after that add a user, that u want to share the folder > and give the full control permission.



Or share the folder and click on security tab.

Add all user and give particular permission to each user.
