I have activated my wifi connection on my laptop and have searched for network connections and have found bt openzone. My friend has said i can type in her broadband user name and password, though she's abit vague and it's rather confusing! Can anyone help? Where would I type this info to connect specifically to her broadband connection?

When you try to connect it should ask for the Key.

You need her to tell you the WPA Key which is probably on a label on the base of the BT router.

When you refer to Hub, is it really a hub or a Router? The internet speed is mostly from the provider (from what i seen BT is not that fast, but maybe in some parts, i can not know for sure). If you have a good provided speed than i say it is the quality of your Hub/Router. I would suggest a Router, and they are quite cheap (about 40pounds). You can buy a Linksys one, very good ones. Returning to your question; it is no need to connect 2 hubs to the BT Broadband. Has no sense. The broadband speed (bandwidth) splits between the connected devices (if you live stream on the computer the speed for the XBOX goes down; if only the XBOX is connected and the desktops are not using a lot of bandwidth, than the XBOX gets more internet speed).

You have to activate your BT Openzone ot BT Fon account, this is free if you are a BT Option 3 account or above, Option 1 or 2 you have to pay. There is no need for your friends network key as a section of their bandwidth is free to use with BT Fon. BT Openzone is also free in places like McDonalds, and there is no need for a key from the modem.

To connect to BT Opemzone or BT Fon, you need your friend's BT e-mail address and password, Can;t see why she would share that information.
