Can a mobile phone call my SIP address?

I'm starting to get into VOIP over my network, but I'm still confused on how it all works, because I use GNU/Linux, I prefer Ekiga (OSS) over Skype.

I've set up my account, and opened my ports, but before I buy a call out account, is it possible for people to ring my Softphone from a mobile? Without actually have them on my contact list?

If so, what do I do to help them call me? I've never bought Skype credits or any other VoIP credits and completely new.

Yes if you get a softphone number they can call you. Also normally you get to pick the area code you want, so if you have friends that live in a specific area code you can pick that area code.
