On my PS3, I have online and it works well.

A couple of days later, my connection somehow goes for no apparent reason.

After around 30 minutes-1 hour, i set up my connection only to find it gone a couple of days later.

The first person who answers these questions that helps me win the 10 points:

Why does it keep going?
What can I do to stop this from happening again?

Is this wireless? If you live in a neighborhood or apartment that has multiple wireless broadcast by each family, you may be suffering from interference. This especially true if everyone who lives around you just plug in their wireless router out of the box. Most are set to the default channel 6 or something like that. You may have to check your wi-fi and change your broadcast channel, try a higher channel like 11.

I guess you have a wireless router.

You can check on the lights on the router when it goes down. If the DSL or Internet lights are out it is your connection to your ISP. If all lights are on normally then it is the connection between the router and your PS3.

Log onto your router and check the settings for maximum session length.

Some access points are set to terminate connections after a specified length of time but this setting can usually be disabled.

How to do this will depend upon the make and model of your router but it should be pretty obvious and straight forward once you have logged onto it.

OK can you narrow it a bit more, try testing your connection,if it gives you<> that means your router is preventing you from connecting or at the same time you might fail on getting PlayStation network, try this if it is the case than you have to open some ports on your router or hub...

try repairing the connection from your computer.i more or less had the same problem.

Hi,

Is your wireless connection protected. If it isn't somebody might have used your connection and played with it. If it is protected, somebody has likely hacked into your connection. If you have WEP try using WPA ir WPA2. Use another password and try to use letters, symbols and numbers. Use min 7 characters. Those keys are very hard to be hacked.

You could make sure your wireless reciever has got a good reliable signal, and you could make sure your ps3 is also within the signal area.

Hope this helps!
