Double check the MAC address of your pc. Make sure it is for the wireless port, not the wired port (common error). If you are not sure, open command prompt (start, run - type in cmd and hit enter). At the command prompt > prompt, type in "ipconfig /all" without quotes. It will list the IP address, default gateway, subnet mask, DNS and DHCP server and the MAC address which it calls the physical address. It will list it for wired and wireless ports so be sure to select the proper one. Also, if there is confusion whether a character is a letter or number (O vs 0 for example) it is the number.

I do not agree with others who are negative about MAC filtering; use it along with WPA or better yet WPA2 if you have that option.

Some low end routers just do not perform properly and may never work however.

Don't even think that WEP is secure. I can hack any WEP key in about 5 minutes. You can even find tutorials on how to do it on youtube.

MAC address filtering, don't bother either. Your MAC address is flying through the airwaves unencrypted. It's relatively easy to change one's MAC address, so it's more hassle to setup then it's supposed to secure.

Want good security? For the time being at least ;)

Look in your manual on how to setup your wireless with WPA or WPA2. And use a strong password.

MAC Address filtering is typically enabled on a wireless access point or router to prevent unauthorized access to that wireless network. You configure it via the router's web interface. If you want to filter connections to your Windows XP machine, use the build in firewall or TCP/IP Filtering (available in network connections --> properties --> TCP/IP Properties --> Advanced --> options tab --> TCP/IP Filtering Properties

Maybe u have problem at your router, some routers product are pain,

anyway I don't recommend you to use MAC filtration" really easy to hack", So try to use WEP Key it's more secure,

Good Luck
