Wait 60 sec.

PC Command Line:

Click [Start] - [Run...] - type: cmd, press [ENTER]

At the prompt (c:\.....>) type: ipconfig /release, press [ENTER]

At the prompt (c:\.....>) type: ipconfig /renew, press [ENTER]

TEST: Connect to Internet.

If NO SUCCESS:

Do you have a router or wireless access point that you use for the internet?

Your laptop will display any networks it can find. Most laptops will get an IP address allocated to it when it connects to a router (or a PC with DHCP server running).

I am unsure as to whether your PC is connected wirelessly to a router, or just happens to have wifi enabled.

If it is connecting wirelessly to a router, then the laptop needs to 'see' that router (the router puts out its SSID name - like a 'beacon' so each router should have a different name to tell your router from a neighbour's router).

If your PC has wireless enabled it would normally look for a router, too, so is unlikely to be sending an SSID name and won't give the laptop an IP address unless you've set it up to. Without that IP address being given, the laptop might show 'limited connectivity'.

As you are getting 'unable to connect' there might be a pass phrase (encryption key) in use (should be enabled and used for all PCs in any network, to stop nosey neighbours connecting and using your internet link for free) but still quite a few 'unknowns' I think.

Maybe you could explain a little more about how your PC connects to the internet, and then it may be possible to assist you.

hi it is very easy,

turn off your laptop.

before conneting wirelessly you need to once connect your laptop with wire to your router or wireless modem using RJ47 or your Cable supplied by your router/modem connect your laptop to your modem, turn on your laptop let it load, then follow the instruction on your router/modem booklet using one of these addresses (192.168.1.1 or 10.0.0.1) surf the net for 2 minutes then take the internet cable out of your laptop.

before doing these make sure your wireless button is turned on.

try either disabling the wireless card on your laptop then enabling it again, or restarting your router.
