I know that some Wireless routers allow the owner to look at the history of sites visited and how long they were visited for on logs, but if i am using a proxy like proxify or hidemyass should this keep the sites from showing up on the logs? Can the user re-access the sites from the logs even if they have a strange (encrypted i think) url such as what i see like (www.hidemyass.com/Hswubw8743kdnbke8) or something similar. url is fake btw
thanks in advanced

Proxies leak everything and hide nothing.

It may depend on how you "proxy". A simple proxy setting in your browser may still show the simple text strings (URL) in the router logs. That depends on the router.

If you have proxy software loaded that does encryption on your PC before going to the router, then less likely people can see what it is.

That said, commercial or professional routers will still log that you have accessed a "proxy", and many of those can be set to block access to the proxy, if the owner of the network decides to do so.

So, it's a mixed bag. In most cases, the sites may not be visible, but in some cases, they may be logged.

a million. some routers have site visitors logging positive homes that you'll enable in case you want. My Linksys WRT54G has this, for instance, yet in this actual form, it really isn't any longer enabled through default, and that i have not afflicted to tutor it on. 2. and three. will variety with diverse routers, and could likely be configurable. 4. Encryption in easy words scrambles the relationship between the computing device and the router. It would not shop the router from understanding what IP addresses were visited -- after all, the router has to understand as a fashion to make the relationship. Why no longer ask your mum and dad in the adventure that they have logging grew to grow to be on?
