Hello,

I am using a directional antenna for connecting two building WLAN networks wirelessly to share resources..

I was just wondering if it was possible to connect the antenna to the access point / switch wirelessly without the need of using cables?

what steps do I have to follow?

Well, if you want to use a "MESH" network. Then yes you can have a remote antenna that is also a "second" access point which you can remote connect into.

You can also, receive the signal and connect the received signal to another access point in the second building thus delivering wireless to the second location.

Either of these will allow wireless connections in the "second" building.

There are actually specialized products to help you accomplish that task, either using "Mesh" or "bridging".

Check http://streakwave.com or http://defactowireless.com or http://moonblink.com

and http://open-mesh.com

An, no. The antenna is what is used to send wirelessly.

You could put a repeater up by the antenna, and send to that wirelessly, but you would still need cables to deliver power to it.

No - You need an antenna to send the wireless signal

It relies upon what style of connection you have, is it a PPPOE or DHCP. besides logically its achievable in view that router have NAT (you're able to desire to call it inner IP) and it does the comparable ingredient as in the experience that your new router is hooked as much as the main line. the concern is you will stumble on 2 instantaneous router, I advise you MAC clone one or the different so it somewhat is going to act like an extender.

No - Antennas are always hardwire
