No. It will not help with that.

A DSL Splitter is a low pass filter to block the high frequency signals causing noise on the voice service.
The Network Interface Device (NID, commonly called the "protector") is the part the separates your inside wire and the telephone company's wire. The NID includes over current and over voltage protection; assuming no one has disconnected the ground connection.

A telephone splitter allows 2 telephones to share the same
telephone line. It is not a protection device and it is not compatible with an Ethernet connection. In what way have you managed to attach one to a computer.?

No. It simply splits the incoming phone line to connect to multiple devices. If lightning strikes near the phone line, the splitter, phone and modem potentially may all be damaged.
Your computer will be immune if it connects by WiFi, although the router could be affected as well as the modem.
Often Ethernet will provide some protection as it is designed to withstand voltages much higher than the normal signal voltages. However, if lightning hits the actual phone line, rather than somewhere close to the line, the energy can track through many devices that are physically wired together.
I hope this helps.
