Movie Maker is not compatible with MP4 files...best bet would be to convert them to .wmv Try this:

Download MP4-Converter(from http://mp4-converter.info). Installation process is rather fast and simple. Please note that MP4-Converter has no viruses, spyware or malware. The program was tested and approved at such software site as download.com, softpedia.com etc.

Launch MP4-Converter and click "Select files". You need simply choose all the MP4 video files you want to convert.

Go to Settings and set AVI/DivX as encoder for video file. There are available different output video settings: AVI/DivX video with original picture size, video for TV (640x480) or video for mobile (320x240). And close settings

Click "Convert" button to convert MP4 to AVI. MP4 Converter will begin to convert all videos in the list. You can convert several files at the same time.

Find converted AVI videos in output folder. It will be C:\Converted by default. You can select any other output folder that you need.
