I have a Modem combined with a Router at my main computer, I would like to set up a Wireless Router at the other end of my house to boost the signal. I have a D-link 802.11g/2.4GHz Wireless router sitting next to me. how could I do this? Do i just need a phone cable?
Thanks in advance :)

You could buy a cable router which has no modem and can route an ethernet network. Then place this where you want and connect it to one of the ethernet ports on your existing router with an ethernet cable.
See if placing your router in a better place, such as the centre of your house, using a parabolic wifi booster (these can be made for almost nothing from templates off the internet, and they fit around the wifi aerial and help to reflect the signal to where it is needed, i use one of these), you can also buy a better aerial for your wifi router which could increase signal strength. These methods are cheap and some are free.
You could also use WDS (wireless distribution system) if your router supports it, you will need an identical router which will be the repeater and the one connected to the internet directly will be the base station.

I am not sure how to take your question, your modem/router has a wireless router built in?
The D-Link can act as a repeater, should be compatible with the wireless modem/router you have now.
If your modem/router isn't a wireless router, just plug your D-Link into your Modem/Router and the way you go. How big is your house? One Wireless router should be enough, depending on what your walls are made out of, etc?

in view which you have information superhighway get admission to via your instantaneous router, you may only could run an Ethernet cable out of your significant laptop to between the empty ports in the back of your instantaneous router. this will additionally enable document sharing between the two computers.
