IRC chat show always your IP address. To hide IP address on Yahoo you need SSL or HTTPS prroxies.

Depends on how the server is configured. Opers and Admins can always see it, but standard users will normally see an obfuscated version that takes a bit of effort to decrypt.
It's not a security threat or anything. It's just an address.

Yes. However, on some servers you have the option to register your nickname which hides your IP address.

your isp is your computer's address. Changing the sign in name doesn't hide the address
