Heres the sitch. Received early Christmas present- the Google Nexus.
Trying to connect to our home WLAN. Unfortunately no-one knows the password for such.
Our home computer runs Windows 7 and connects to a homegroup which then allows access to the wifi.
Can anyone help getting the WLAN password. The normal methods expressed here http://forums.cnet.com/7723-7585_102-293102/i-forgot-my-wireless-password-help/ and elsewhere don't work (router details nothing to the likes of passwords just simple tests and general details like IP address etc etc).
Any help is appreciated.

Hi!

What you need to do, is go to your windows 7 computer and click on the area in the bottom right of your screen that shows your internet connection. Right click your network name (For example: SuperAT&TNetwork) and then click properties in the drop box menu that appears after you right-click. A window will now open that is called [insertnetworknamehere] wireless network properties. Click on the tab labeled security. Now you will see that there is a text box with a bunch of black circles in it. Below that there is a small check box that says show characters beside it. Click on that check box (Note: Make sure you are on an admin account beforehand). Now your network security will appear in the text box.

I hope you can understand these steps, and have fun with your Google Nexus! :D

If the answer from Bionicle.. doesn't work, you will need to connect to your router by typing its numerical address. Something like 192.168.x.x in Internet Explorer address bar. You can find the address on the bottom of your router. When you connect, go to wireless wifi set up (or similiar, diferent routers have different names but all are similiar) and select reset to unconfigured. Then you can put in a new name and password for your wifi. You will have to enter that name to all devices connectiong to the router.

You ought to reset it in case you don't know it, read the handbook that got here with it, quite often you just hold the reset button for 20 seconds, then you're going to need to established your router once more, takes about 5 minutes however its butter than consumer carrier.
