Note : Try these on a virtual platform before actually you implement them real time.

You can audit logon events on the server..do the following steps

on ya server

Start -> Admin tools ->Domain Security Policies

In the domain security settings window,

Expand Local policies and then audit policies.

now, double click on audit account logon events.It takes you to the properties page.

check 'Define these policy settings' and choose success or failure or both.

u now need to activate this gpo setting.

start->run-> type in gpupdate /force.

Now try logging on to your server from any of the clients.

to view logon events, goto event viewer under admin tools.

Play around with it.it should work..

For monitor win server 2003, You go into the windows event viewer and look in the security log. click the security log then view, and then filter.

In your system Click Control Panel > Administrative Tool and navigate to Local Policies & click “Audit Policy”. Now to monitor user’s activities to terminal services, just double-click “Terminal Services”.

Both are terrible. I like Burger King better. KFC the last time I had it April 1 1994. The next day I was on the toilet throughout the day and have not ate it since. I have vowed never to eat it again and so far I have not. The last time I was in McDonalds was 2005. I prefer Burger King and go there once a month.

Windows can do this for you but it has to be configured as a domain controller using active directory with all client machines as members of teh active directory.

If that is the case, use group policy management console to create and apply a domain wide GPO that audits sucessful and failed logins
