HOw to setup a FTP??

i already have a no-ip account,how should i do to setup a FTP?

Buy space from a web host, they'll set you up with one and enough disk space. All you use is a username and password to log in like anything else... WS_FTP or cuteFTP (both free online) are programs you use to log into the FTP account using the information your website host has provided. Try this location: http://javascript.internet.com/navigation/ftp-server-login.html There you can do it without using a program as well, it uses javascript, and you can navigate it like any old folder provided your host has it supported where you can login to an FTP using the web browser. I prefer using the web browser method, it's much easier and you can save it as a favorite like any old web page, you can login quick, and upload tons of files easily. Hope this helps!

i had setup a FTP server on live all u need is the following

-live IP with/without domain

-FTP server



setup a FTP server on the machine with Live Ip i had used WS_FTP open one port for FTP either from ISP/Router/etc. dont use the default port use something 5324 something for security follow the instructions and setup a FTP Server configure clients i.e ip security/authentication etc



setup a client ftp on the other end to connect.. with the setting given in the FTP server



fileZilla is also good and its free

u need 2 get a program 2 run the ftp connection.. then go onto the webhosting site and ask for ftp information... if the program is good then u will have a wizard to assist you... a program that i use and recomend is "cuteFTP" type it into google and find a site 2 download it from

Are you trying to set up an FTP server or client? What OS are you using? One of the easiest FTP servers I have seen for Windows is FileZilla.

If you have a website already and you want to tranfer files.



Open your ftp program. I have cute FTP program. tool/ site manger.



at bottom click on new.



label will come up.



put in the name of your site.host addres.com without the www.



next it will ask forhost address and that is the name of your website with the www.



after that it will ask for user name which is your site name.host address.com



then your password. whatever you want it to be
