My company is opening a branch office about 400 miles away. The two offices do not need to share data back and forth as they pretty much are on their own, but they do want to
have the same email domain name (company.com).

Any ideas or recommendations? Thanks!

Not only is this possible, it happens all the time. Think of big companies like HP, Motorola, Intel, Cisco, etc... which have multiple locations and a single email domain.

You can set up DNS records to provide one domain on unconnected subnets. It would also help to have a VPN to provide private communication between the two locations, even if you don't want to share data. This will allow you to set up a single mail server within your company (though this is not strictly required).

take a glance at MS replace on line. you are able to sync Outlook from any laptop and use your cutting-edge POP e mail area. the only disadvantage could desire to be the 5 person minimum. If that's a challenge, look at place of work 365 (popping out in 2011) – no minimum requirement.
