I've tried connecting to 192.169.1.1 lots of times on different browsers such as Internet Explorer and Firefox. All of them come up with errors. I even reset my router and pressed it for 30 seconds and that didn't help either. Also when I go to look for my Default Gateway, it shows that mine is 66.65.32.1 I never heard an IP address by those numbers, I even tried searching it on Google and nothing comes up..I even tried to getting that through the browser and it doesn't work either. I'm trying to set up a connection for my laptop, WHAT DO I DO?? D:

A few things are wrong here. Firstly, the address is 192.168.1.1, not 192.169.1.1. Secondly, even if you use 192.168.1.1, it wont work because you must be connected directly to a modem since you have that 66.65.32.1 ip address. Since you're not connected to a router, you cant use 192.168.1.1.

If your internet is working properly at the moment, then whatever your default gateway address is, that is the address you would use to access the router (if it has a web accessible interface). 192.168.1.1 is the most common address for accessing a router's interface, but it is by no means the only one that router manufacturers use. if yours says 66.65.32.1, that is your default gateway, or the ip address facing the local network your computer is on of the router your computer connects to.

edit - so if you are trying to access the router config and you know for a fact that it is using 192.168.1.1 as its address and it isn't working to load any sort of config page, why not do a search for how to access the config page for your specific router? or tell us what model the router is?

Also, rute is probably right, if you have a default gateway like that, its most likely the modem that has assigned this and if you are connected through the router it is either not working correctly or you have the wires connected to the wrong ports (the modem should be in the "special" ethernet port on the router)....

Don't know how its done on apple, but if you have a windows pc at home go to the start menu and type cmd in the search (vista and win7). The command prompt will open, type ipconfig /all. A long list of goodies will come up. Go to wireless LAN adapter and look at the line that says "default gateway" it will probably say 192.168.1.1

Type that into your browser and you should be good to go.

Cant do it through wifi, must be connect directly to the router
