I Have A Slow Internet Speed?

Question

I Have 2 Pc's And My internet is (( 4MB Broadband ))
But When I check my speed On my desktop pc (wired connection) it is very slow (1.00 MB or Less)
but on my laptop it is (3.90 MB)

I tried Everything :
- Reset my router
- Reinstall Windows
- Reinstall network driver
- Reset TCP/IP Networking Stack
- Internet Boost Apps

but nothing worked Please Help !!!!
My Desktop PC specs are :
- Windows 7 Ultimate 32-Bit
- Realtek RTL8168C(P)/8111C(P) Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.20)

My Laptop PC specs are :
- Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit
- Wireless Network

First of all check the connectivity of modem with your pc by using "Ping" type "Ping 192.168.1.1" in search of mainmenu. Check following link for details. If not ok check your cable by replacing.



If connection is ok then there can be several issues effecting your computer i.e. windows services or partly corrupted windows Installation. Virus activity.



For final conclusion I suggest, Download a live Image of "Slax" or "puppy" Linux and burn it to the cd and boot your pc from it. Run install browser It will automatically connect to internet now check the speed there, if it is ok then Install fresh windows. It will work fine.

oK I acept that You have tried those things to speed up the Internet,,,But You did not follow some tips...You can do those Tips below i stated...

Don't worry You can Speed the Internet By following the TIPS Below.....You can Clear the Cookies Use Latest Browser.....Install Anti Virus Software and Firewall protection...use Browser like Internet Explorer 8 latest Version or Firefox etc.or Google Chrome.....Aviod Too many download at same time.Avoid more system sharing Via router.....Reset the Modem everyday while start Browsing...or starting......Do store Full in Dick drives in your PC..FORMAT the system OS if the system is slow Too long to respond.......You can follow those Steps to Upgrade the Speed of Your Connection,(Increse the Speed of Your Internet Connection)then before and after Following the TIPS Test the speed of the Internet here

The major reasons for slow network are:



1. Loopback

2. Broadcast/Multicast storm

3. Virus attack

4. Server slow response

5. Too many clients

6. Application slow response

7. Error client mask

Apart from having sufficient RAM and processing speed below are the few tips to deal with slow internet:





1. Try and user Google chrome Its light weight and fast you can get it for free from the following URL http://www.google.com/chrome

2. Download any good System Cleaner such as Reginout from Intel Software Directory (http://ibx.intel.com/directory/ ) to clear Browser history and cache because when the cache gets full, your browsing will slow down.

3. Make sure system is free of Mal wares and viruses use Avast free and Malware Bytes (FREE)



4. Sometimes your DNS server is not fast enough you can experiment with some third party DNS server Such as OpenDNS http://www.opendns.com. I tested this with two ISP connections found it very useful with One of them, didn’t get much difference in case of second ISP.

5. Always try and use a download manager. There are many free options available

6. Make sure your system firewall in enable and managed to stop unwanted internet traffic
