The notion of "boot" needs to be understood. when the computer first gets powered up, there is nothing for the CPU to do. THe Bios is the chip that directs the very steps to take. The BIOS also has nonvolatile memory, so the instructions are always present. now for the meat and potato of things............

Bios will know what devices are connected, like hard drive, USB, optical drive, floppy drive of yesteryear, or network boot. how much memory or any external device connected to it.

Remember, at this time, you have no operating system loaded yet.if the BIOS detects a network cable and a connetion that is valid,, the instruction will tell the computer to download from the network. It still needs to install all your drivers, such as keyboard driver, mouse driver, video driver and all necessary files

Boot protocols can cross subnets, but not across the internet. You need a boot server configured and accepting boot packets.

nope. it is not how it works.

it works by having a computer connected to another computer such as server.

example

1 2 3 4

|,, |,, |,,|,

---------

, |

server

the pc's 1,2,3,4 will be able to boot from network. and that network is the server. it's like sharing one computer to another computer. of course, the pc's should all be connected to the server pc
