How do I setup my Netgear wireless router?

I have a netgear mr 314 wireless router and do not know how to set it up. I hooked it up correctly and my computer says that it's connected in "network connections."
When it's hooked up I cannot load any pages in my web browser.
My nintendo Wii found it as a wireless connection, asks for a password, which I have, then fails the connection test.
-Do I have to set it up with my service provider, Verizon? How do I?
-Do I need to somehow configure the router to my internet settings?

I have no idea how to do any of this. It's a previously owned router, so do I need to change the name and password? I have the old one.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Yes, you need to get into your router's administration box and configure your Netgear router with your userid, password and other information required by your ISP to connect to internet so that your Wii & network will connect to the internet. This site will help you configure your router http://www.dslreports.com/faq/7815
