I have a HP Laserjet 4300 printer that is network ready and connected to my router. I also have a wireless network at home where my router assigns dynamic IP addresses to different machines. I was able to route to my printer wirelessly using the printer's IP address. But it seems that the IP address changes every few days therefore I am having to constantly route to new IP address that my printer gets. Is there a way around it so I don't constantly do the printer setup every time the IP changes??

There should be configuration cd that came with the LJ4300.

During the initial installation did you see a screen that mentioned static IP or DHCP? The easiest way to fix this situation is to reinstall the printer on your primary PC/laptop and set a static IP (it will never change). Make sure you point to the correct Gateway IP address so that the wireless network will be able to see the printer.

Open up a cmd window by using Start and then Run menu choices. IPCONFIG /all command will give you your current IP address and your router's gateway IP address

If you cannot locate the installation cd for the LJ4300 you can use a browser window by entering the current IP address and then go to the TCP/IP section to create a static IP.

First find an open ip address on your router.....Go into the jet direct menu on the printer (EIO jet direct config) and configure a static IP address (user specified) for this device.
