port 80 is HTTP.

I'd use something in the high thousands just to keep it from conflicting from anything else that you use. 1000-9000

Most people use 80, 88, 8080, 443, or some random very-high port.

80 is blocked by most residential ISPs to stop home-servers from working.

443 is Secure HTTP (https) default and in my experience is the best to use - I've found some free hotspots block many outbound ports.

If your camera supports HTTPS access I'd try using 443 and configure it for https...it's probably the least-blocked and most-reliable (not to mention secure). I use 443 for TCP/IP internet-printing so I can use my home printer from my college - works great (the college blocks all non-standard ports both ways).

Here is a good guide for you which explains how to set up Port Forwarding on your router so you can choose a port number yourself.
