I've been looking into joining Sky Broadband, but I'm currently with Orange. I need a MAC code apparently, how do I get this? Can I e-mail Orange and ask them to send it? I really don't want to ring, because there is never an English person on the end of the line and they never understand what I'm trying to do.

MAC address or Media Access Control address is a unique identifier on a network-enabled device. All smart phones, network cards, modems, routers, switches, and hubs have one. It can usually be found on a sticker on back or if the device is part of a computer the command ipconfig will show it under physical address. If you are dealing with a phone of some sort you can usually find it under settings. Hope that helps.

You'd need to phone them I'm afraid.

Edit: Just found this. Don't know if it will be of any use:

Edit to tbshmkr and Jay... He wants his "Migration Access Code" which is what you need in the UK when changing ADSL providers.

the MAC code will be on the base side of the modem or router
