Hi all - I forgot what I used but now I am in this linksys wireless network. All internet surfing is fine, sending email thru yahoo and gmail's fine, downloading's fine - only that I can send email using outlook (receiving is fine though).

Is there some kind of config I need to change? do I have to change back if I am back to that other type of wireless network?

Thanks!

which is it? can't receive? can't send? If you can't send, the problem may be with your outgoing email server. The wireless network may not allow you to authenticate with the server. So try this: go to tools, email settings, or email account (depending on what version you have), select to view or change email settings, select your account, click on change button. Check both the incoming and outgoing server settings to make sure they are correct. Click more settings button, click on outgoing server, remove the check from my server requires authentication. Alternatively, if the option is not checked, then please check it. Click OK, all the way out. Close Outlook and then open it again. See it that will work for you. Good luck.

Whoever your Internet provider is- timewarner, cox, SBC - search for there pop and smtp settings - you need to use those for your incoming (pop) and your outgoing (smtp) settings - something like smtp.sbcglobal.net... It should be easy to find on there site - if not call them - its probably the most frequent asked question they get..

The servers might desire to in all probability be down... or Outlook show might desire to be doing that soreness in the rump element it does and has bumped off your passwords and you may desire to re-enter them lower back. verify that... and get in touch with your provider to make helpful the servers are up.
