Error using Net Send in the CMD, please help?

Question

I have been using Net Send to try to access another computer in my house and when I try it out on my computer it works but then when I try to send a message to another computer in my house by the IP of that computer I just get an error saying:

An error occurred while sending a message to xxx.xxx.x.xxx
The message alias could not be found on the network

I have enabled the Messenger on the other computer but it still wont work. Anyone know why?

It sounds like the service isn't started. Go here to fix.

are you in the same workgroup? is messenger enabled on both machines? vista doesn't have messsenger. try using the netbios name. check firewalls.
