It could be set to default. Try leaving the fields blank, if that doesn't work then try using root as username and password.

The server 192.168.1.1 at Linksys WAG54GS requires a username and password. admin user name and admin password is the factory presets for the router. It might be that you are working with a router that has had the presets changed. However, in the UK, if you telephone Linksys helpline at 0800 026 1418 (24/7 helpline) you will get a member of staff who will take you right through the setup, and if you ask, will also take you through the process of updating the firmware on the router. I speak from personal experience with use of the Linksys staff......top rated.

Linksys does not use an ID, just a password. Enter admin in the password field and you be taken to the router configuration screen. The quick setup guide would tell you that too.

is this a used router with a old user/pass or new? If new check there website for a manual. should be something like user: admin Pass: 1234. then once your in you gotta change it. if old there should be a pin hole in the back of the router somewhere. Need to stick a pin in there and hold for like 10 seconds, this will reset to all factory presets including user: pass. For the heck of it try admin:admin
