If you can't get in using the router IP, you need to be connected directly via ethernet cable, then you may need to hit the factory reset button. MAKE SURE BEFORE YOU RESET THAT YOU HAVE ALL OF YOU ISP INFORMATION. Sorry about the caps but that is important. You will need your username and password etc. There is usually a very small button somewhere on the back of the router hold it with a pen of pin for a few seconds then try connecting again.
Hope this helps.

I would say if you are in a a position to access the router than you should be able to reset the password, but this would involve resetting the router, for instance mine has a reset button on the back that can be pushed in for an amount of time, but I wait for a few seconds after and all the lights on the router go off and come back on. That would put it back to default meaning that your password is default. for mine it was easy, admin for username and password for password, Some passwords are on the bottom of the devices of some I believe.
WARNING !!
But if you have an internet connection such as dsl through your phone line than you need the dsl username and password for the configuration unless you know them you couldnt use it and neither could anyone else. If it is cable generally they connect typically after connection to the modem. If not reset the router and modem if necessary. (a quick reset shouldnt cause settings loss)
Hope it helps. If you can find your default username and password maybe just search the internet for that: default username and password for belkin201.... and see if the answer doesnt pop-up

Some routers have a tiny button at the back or underneath that can only be pressed using a pin. This resets everything to factory defaults. You'll need to check your manual.

1. If you are not able to access internet at all using router, then you have to reset to factory no other go.
2. If you are able to access internet using your router, then find out your default gateway IP and try accessing http://gateway-ip/

Plug in an ethernet cable into one of the external ports on the router and plug the other into your comp, then you will be able to login

you could always do a full reset that will leave your router to the default factory settings.
