My computer is running slow and i just bought it less than a month ago...is a VAIO SONY and i do have antivirus. Yesterday i got a alert saying my cpu was 95% something like that (dont exacly remember) so i searched online and seems like i should uninstall programs from the system configuration. So i press the "START" then "RUN" and enter "msconfig.exe" but i really don't know about what each program means and what is related to what... Im interested in surging the internet, listening to music, watching movies, yahoo and msn messenger, and some programs i have downloaded to use once and then. I don't want to uninstall things that will damage programs that already come with the computer like the camera etc. How can i know what programs i should uninstall? Here are some of the programs i currently have...

CPU is not the number of programs you have on your hard drive; it is the number of programs that you have running. Turn off any program that are running while you are not actually using them. Most of them, such as anti-virus, server etc, should be set as automatic start when and as you need them. If you don't understand this get someone who does to check the configuration.

Wrong tab, *don't* mess with things in the services tab. Uncheck things in the startup tab that don't have to do with the operating system or your antivirus, or any programs you actually want running on startup.
