Depends on what's on your computer, but there are a number of things it could be:

- someone sharing your bandwidth (brother downloading porn, neighbour stealing wifi)

- YOU sharing your bandwidth (running a game like Armored Warfare that offers a torrent of the game files)

- malware doing either of the above things

- dodgy hardware

Malwarebytes may not have rmoved all the malware. Some trojans/worms/virus are *very* hard to get rid of. Really, when your machine is infected, you should reinstall from clean media and reload your data.

Use Netbalancer tool to check what is eating up your bandwidth .You can also use built in windows tool called resource monitor -> Network to check what is consuming your bandwidth.

...... Could be a ddos type inquery from amazon or google, i get them from time to time. Most people wouldn't recgonize them cause they have highspeed. But if you got a slower connection they drag you down. I've had to block a few of them. Facebook too.

I'd recommend checking your router logs and getting a program called "net balancer" that will tell you what your computer is sending and recieving it wont tell you though what other computers on the network are sending and recieving.

Worms are usually harmless to files/data, but they have the ability to replicate themselves, they eat up storage on disks, they eat up bandwidth on networks.....and they are a big threat!

I suspect worm are causing these problems!

Make sure your WiFi signal is secure and nobody can "borrow" any of your signal. Password protect your WiFi signal and make it invisible to others. Go online a search the secure setup for your particular router model. Make sure you use WPA2 and create a good SSID password to hide your WiFi signal.

check your router to see what all is connected. if there's nothing unusual, complain to your ISP.

this happens routinely with cable tv type systems when nearby customers run big downloads [videos or movies, usually]
