DO NOT RESET YOUR MODEM AND ROUTER! YOU WILL HAVE TO REPROGRAM IT!!!

Well, if it worked once then you had everything wired properly. SImple as that. If it was wired wrong at the begining , then it just will not work!

First try this.

goto a command prompt (click on start and then run and type CMD) type the following.

ipconfig /release

This should release your current address. now type

ipconfig /renew

this should give you a fresh new address. Now try to connect.

Did this work?

If not then..

Reboot your router. Unplug the power cord and ethernet cable (if you are wired) for about 10 seconds. then connect your power cord and then your ethernet cable back in. Wait for the router to finish rebooting.

Now try to connect to the internet. Are you connected?

If not, then your problem goes beyond a simple trouble shooting and could involve your ISP provider send a tech out to check your Phone or cable connection.

ok... so you go from your modem to your router to your computer.

MODEM-->ROUTER-->COMPUTER

You need to reset your modem and router. Look at the back of them and there should be a pin size hole you have to press for it to reset. Do this but don't connect the computer just yet, wait till the modem and the router are reset and connect the computer. On the tray bar there should be an icon that shows your computer getting connected to the network... at first it will show something like " identifying network " after thats finish your computer should be online. If that doesn't work, go to control panel and then to network. Right click on your network connection and click diagnose and it should tell ya whats wrong.

I never used ADSL so my instructions might be wrong, but it's worth a shot...

Go to Network Connections from Control Panel

Right click on your ASSL Connectiod

Chose Properties

Highlight TCP/IP in the list of Protocols

click Properties "Button"

Make sure it's set on ...

Obtain IP Automatically

Obtain DNS Automatically

Click the OK button

Hope this works or helps

1. Unplug the router from modem, and the computer from the router, the modem from the wall, then unplug all the power from everything.

2. Plug the modem into the wall and turn on power, wait until all lights blinking.

3. Plug router into wall and then into modem, wait until all lights blinking.

4. Plug laptop into router, then turn on laptop power.
