How can I do this please? I need to be able to share a PDF with someone but in such a way that they couldn't send it on. I know there are file hosting websites which allow you to share files which are password protected, but the person could then simply share the password with others. Is there any way at all of securely stopping the recipient if the file from sharing it to others?
I'd be surprised if there weren't some clever solution to this used by corporations etc.
Thank you!

They could share the password.. Or just download the PDF to share it.

It may be possible.. But could be very complicated.

A batch or script of some sort may make it possible.

Thats a nice option as you can make the PDF expire.

Time the expiration correct.. Giving them minimal time to share.

Some good options here.. Set limited views.. authorization ect.

Hope it helps :)

Once someone actually gets the file, they can do whatever they want with it.

Only way to prevent that is to not send them the file at all, but just allow viewing the file on a service. However, even with that, and even if password protected, it can still be shared with others.

There is no such thing as "privacy" on the Internet, and even more so once something is written down, even on paper...everything can be shared.
