Everytime I turn my computer on I get this message. I have an external HDD plugged into my router which I have mapped to my computer for extra storage and backup purposes. I can then click on the drive under "computer" and a message pops up saying,
"An error has occurred while reconnecting to O: to \\Onetrillion\ens.
Microsoft windows network: Multiple connections to a server or shared resource by the same user, using more than one user name, are not allowed. Disconnect all previous connections to the server or shared resource and try again."
After that I click on it again and it prompts me to enter my User name and PW, which I do. It then let me into my external disk. Anyone know how to fix this so my computer automaticlly connects to my disk appon startup?
I've already selected, "connect on start up." and set my PC to save my credentials.

I am running Windows Vista, this is every time I start my computer.

Do you switch your external drive off when not in use?

I suspect that it is dropping its IP address when you switch it off, then when you boot up your computer, it is looking for the drive based on its IP address.

The solution is to give your O drive a static address and map to that.

You can give it a static address through your router settings. (Without knowing your router, I can't help you with that one)

In a Domain environment users that do not "LOG ON" will get this same message. If you do not have a password setup or do not log on every time the system will not log onto the external drive or mapped drive. I assume this is not a Domain environment but the rule still applies. Make yourself log on every time the machine starts up.

Just to clarify a little you want the LOG ON screen to ask for your credentials at start up not log in automatically.
