I've recently updated my router Netgear DG834Gv3 to it's latest firmware and now my internet is running slow.

DownStream Connection Speed - 704 kbps
UpStream Connection Speed - 288 kbps

Shall I make any configurations? If so what?

The best speed test I have found is and I’ve tried them all ►

It will also keep a log of all your previous tests. It will throw up a yellow star which will be your nearest server. It will then give you your upload and download speeds as well as the ping time to the server. You can ping any server in the world.

Actually pinging servers from various parts of the world show some very interesting results.

You can also now do a separate ping test as well to see how accurate your connection is.

procuring a instantaneous router with a swifter instantaneous move fee can help you with files transfers that are thoroughly community. yet when you're doing an information move between your community community and the web, likely the bottleneck will be your internet get top of entry to line. In different words, once you're making the community community swifter, you'll nevertheless be stuck with a slow get top of entry to line which will keep your move expenses low. it may no longer be ideal for your particular mission, yet you are able to easily combine internet connections at the same time (e.g. cable, dsl). case in point, in case you blend at the same time 2 DSL lines at 6Mbps down / 768k up each and every, you'll create an get top of entry to line with a optimal % of 12 Mbps down / a million.5 Mbps up. that's nicely more advantageous than a T1 line, and at a fragment of the cost.

It might help if you supplied previous figures too

And please use a reliable speed tester as most give wildly inaccurate numbers in my experience

This is one of the better ones

If the firmware update reset the configuration to default settings, you might need to change them - or at least re-run the setup software
