Most routers have a little hole in the back where there is a reset button. Find that, and press the button inside for 10-15 seconds, and the router should reset to factory defaults (along with everything else in the router). You will need to re-configure the router afterwards again...

on the back of the router typically next to the power cable is a little hole with a little button. 9/10 you hold the button for 5-10 seconds and this will reset the router to the default username and password.

D-Link is typically

user: admin

password: blank

Linksys

user: blank

pass: 1234 or admin

netgear

user: admin

pass: password

sometimes the defaults are printed on the bottom of the router

If it is the router's password, yes, you must go back to the default and reconfigure it.

Next time, tape it to the bottom of the router (yes, this is unsafe but anyone who can

touch your router probably could do much worse).

Here is a site that lists default login/passwords.

Login password could desire to be reset to admin/admin All different on the spot AP documents/settings/protection would be cleared too.
