It's possible that your network adapter is "Onboard" which means it's not a card that was put in, it's ON the mainboard of your computer. I might look in your BIOS when you first turn your CPU on, (usually hitting F1 or ESC will do it), and verify that your onboard adapter is set to "Enabled".
2 other possible answers could be your network card is faulty (broken) and needs replacement, OR windows itself is having a problem (either from a virus, or just the operating system itself is messed up) and might have to be reloaded. Make sure if you do a restore, BACK UP FIRST anything that's important to you (pictures, music, documents, etc..)
Hope that helps a little bit.

deploy any of the free operating structures, linux, freebsd, there's a ton of welfare *nix free to apply that artwork a minimum of as reliable as windoze and some others any search for engine will tutor you. gateway may even help linux on that device, call the volume on it. invalid gadget disk is generally a incorrect bootable disk someplace, forgive the stupid questions yet is the floppy force empty? did it artwork earlier and unexpectedly change? free criminal bootable disk: if it has a floppy force you could acquire free startup floppy records and characteristic a free bootable disk or make one on any windoze machcine with an older os and a floppy force to show you how to spot what's on the force or if it truly is taken under consideration via the device. if so you could run some disk utilities which could have a moderate small danger of changing it. that device runs linux tremendous, you gotta comprehend someone who'll grant you with an deploy cd..... it even installs lots a lot less complicated than windoze imho
