Unturned 3.11.9 port forwarding not working?

I tried to port forward my server for Unturned after I accidentaly deleted it, so I created the shortcut, put in -nographics -batchmode +secureserver/Survival and then started the shortcut, typed "shutdown," then opened my server folder. I then went into my commands.dat and put "name Survival, port 27015, mode hard, maxplayers 24, map PEI, timeout 500." I can connect using localhost, but when I try and use my ip to connect, or my friends try and connect, it doesn't work. I've done this many times, I even went to my portforwarding and deleted it, then made a new one the exact same, yet it still doesn't work. Does anybody know why?

Port Forward Not Working

Portforwarding is done AT YOUR ROUTER not on your computer!

Go read up on it at portforward.com

No settings you do on your computer will allow outside traffic to get through your router. In fact many ISP's block most server ports because many do not allow you to run a server!

Once you have your router properly port forwarding to your computer, you tell the computer firewall to allow traffic into the system for the services and ports you wish to allow!

Go to http://www.grc.com and find their ShieldsUp tool. Use this to test port 27015 to see what it reports. If the port does not respond, it means the port forwarding is not set up in your router. If it says the port is there but closed, it means that the server is not responding. If it is open, then it should be working.

Have you got the server on a static address on your private network? If not, is the address still the one configured in port forwarding? Have you put in the correct exceptions in the server computer's firewall?

Also, some routers do not support trying to access a server on your private network using your public IP address. You need to use a different ISP connection.

If your public IP address is dynamic, you might investigate using a DDNS service such as dyn.com or noip.com.

I hope this helps.

You need to port forward the port 27015 and 27016. Don't ask me why it just works that way. I have a video on this subject on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zkZ9_cKvcWI.
